The Sanluca armchair, is one of the biggest icon of the italian design, but not only. It is also a tangible evidence of the very strong relationship that connected Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglione. 100 years after the birth of the first and 50 years after the death of the second one, a limited edition series of the Sanluca reminds and celebrates this partnership, at the same time introduces us another big giant of the project, the graphic-artist Max Huber, connected to the Castiglioni’s by a ten-year frienship. (To him we owe the design from which the original tissue that covers the Sanluca Limited Edition was developed). Born from the idea of emptying out the traditional padding to get to the “strictly necessary” curves and have the best support, Sanluca it’s an extraordinary example of the italian design. Ergonomic and always at the state-of-the-art. A shape that seems to perfectly wrap the body. The rigid wooden structure is made of separate components and subsequently assembled. The upholstery is in a special fabric made with a jacquard loom on a new design by Max Huber from 1968 called “Geophysical Waves”. Available in two colors: white background with black stripes and black background with white stripes. The feet are in solid wengè-stained ash wood.
