Poliform: From Artisan Workshop to Modern Industry
The Poliform brand is known to all as a synonym of quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, not only to those in the design field. Poliform’s design is characterized by timeless elegance, an element that serves as a common thread throughout all environments, giving spaces a recognizable and harmonious imprint.
The materials are carefully selected and rich in precious details. Not by chance, despite the industrialization process, craftsmanship remains the company’s distinctive trait, able to combine style, comfort, and quality, in the name of recognizable refinement.
The History of Poliform
The founding of Poliform took place in 1970 through the initiative of three cousins: Alberto Spinelli, Aldo Spinelli, and Giovanni Anzani. They transformed the family-run artisan enterprise—active since 1942—into a modern industry: “Poliform” immediately became synonymous with simplicity, elegance, forward-looking vision, and flexibility.
Poliform’s furniture pieces strongly reference the tradition of Made in Italy while simultaneously being modern in both materials and lines. Poliform quickly established itself in the Italian scene and within twenty years began its international ascent, exactly in 1990, when it entered the European market and became a leader in the wardrobe sector.
A major turning point was the acquisition of another Italian reality specialized in kitchen production: the historic Made in Italy brand Cucine Varenna.
Kitchens: One of Poliform’s Strengths
Poliform kitchens stand out immediately for their modernity, featuring a style with maximum compositional versatility that appeals to a cross-section of national and international audiences, addressing diverse needs and tastes. The multiple collections are characterized by refinement, as well as by the variety of materials, combining in a unique and almost magical way style elements that at first glance might seem incompatible. This reflects a constant pursuit of reliability, safety, and longevity.
Poliform kitchens fit into an overall context of cared-for environments, in the name of ongoing aesthetic and comfort research. It is a true philosophy—a viewpoint on how to live spaces in contemporary life while ensuring pleasantness.
Poliform Today
The elements at the foundation of Poliform furniture are as current as possible. This is precisely the key to the company’s success, able to continue its story while maintaining its independence. The family-run leadership, where different generations—young and more experienced—work side by side, confirms this.
Today Poliform has facilities in Brianza, in Inverigo, capable of producing around 350 wardrobes and 200 kitchens per week, for a market that spans over 80 countries worldwide. It is present in Europe, America, Africa, and the East—China and surrounding areas, the Middle East—bringing its unmistakable style and constant visual and conceptual research that leads to creating objects for spaces with ever-new horizons.
