MisuraEmme is an all-Italian brand born at the beginning of the 20th century in Brianza, which has always woven reliability in production with the manufacturing expertise passed down through generations. Its philosophy, consolidated over years of family management, remains constant: quality that evokes innovation and craftsmanship.

The History of the MisuraEmme Brand

MisuraEmme is a brand specialized in design furniture with a long and complex history, yet deeply aligned with the company’s founding principles—the same upheld by the family that created it from the start—and with the cornerstones of true Made in Italy.

This wonderful journey begins in 1902 in Mariano Comense, a place known for its manufacturing tradition, from the insight of a man, Giovanni Mascheroni, father of Giuseppe and Luigi.

From a small workshop, today the company spans over 35,000 sqm and three generations have passed the baton, always with a common denominator: the balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern industrial design.

In the 1960s and ’70s, all of Italy was buzzing: furniture pieces ceased to be mere functional objects and became integral parts of interior design. Thus, design emerged, marking extremely creative and lively years for manufacturers.

Precisely in these years, the company introduced the concept of “compositional freedom,” experimenting with colored lacquering. From that point on, collaborations began with noted designers such as Ugo la Pietra and Dante Benini, and visionary architects.

In 1995, MisuraEmme acquired the GAB brand, focusing on furnishings for younger audiences. In 1996, it acquired ATELIER, a brand featuring designs by names such as Gardella, Forti, Toshiyuki Kita, and Hans-Peter Weidmann. Production expansion continued: architects, designers, and artists of international fame joined the team.

In 2003, MisuraEmme revolutionized the concept of painting finishes by introducing an ecological perspective in an industry still heavily impacting the environment. Innovation drives the genius of this unique brand: not only shapes and space but also materials are thoroughly studied to push them to the extreme of lightness.

In 2007, a three-layer poplar plywood was discovered—extremely light yet robust, akin to a real tree. The company exhibited at the Salone del Mobile and participated in international fairs such as the one held in Singapore in 2014, marking the brand’s presence in the Asian market.

The Tao10 design, by Mauro Lipparini, won the GrandesignEtico2014 award: yet again confirming that this brand prioritizes the environment long before such concerns became mainstream. Beds, wardrobes, dressers, bookcases, bedside tables: furnishings for the bedroom and others for the living area, made-to-measure pieces and office accessories—the company’s versatile character continues to evolve.

Characteristics of the MisuraEmme Brand

MisuraEmme is a brand whose experience, spanning over a century, combines with a constant desire to regenerate. It is an eclectic company that has always required the fervent collaboration of leading names from the worlds of furniture, architecture, and design.

Nothing ever repeats the past; every new product has an extra edge. The vision of what is trending—and above all what will become so: this is the key to a successful production, an excellence of Made in Italy.

The second defining point of this brand is undoubtedly the quality of entirely Italian production. Every aspect of Made in Italy is therefore respected and even enhanced. The result is a range mixing living room pieces—such as sofas, armchairs, and bookcases—with bedroom items—beds, wardrobes, bedside tables—or office furniture—desks, poufs, computer chairs. The use of materials is skillful and creates contrasts that blend minimalism with preciousness: from wood to stone to glass, for a rare design.

MisuraEmme: Versatility and Ecological Commitment

Versatile, inclined to change yet always faithful to the cornerstones of craftsmanship: this is the corporate spirit of a brand that has remained solid over time, expanding with care and attention, creating artifacts curated down to the smallest detail. Although production is on an industrial scale, the care remains absolutely artisanal.

The commitment to the ecological front is also a key, powerful element for this manufacturer: every year in Italy alone, about half a million tons of toxic substances harmful to the environment and human health are released into the air.

MisuraEmme quickly distanced itself from this trend and, as early as the 2000s, embarked on an impeccable ethical path. Research and experimentation have led to extraordinary progress in this regard: the brand’s finishes are non-toxic, using MOS technology based solely on water-based products, thus obtaining the Aquaver certification from ANVER (Italian Painters Association) with number 0001.

This is the premier certification attesting to the use of respectful coatings for human health and the planet. Furthermore, the company also holds the international FSC certification, verifying environmental respect and forest habitat protection for all companies using wood in their production.

Thus, it is an eclectic brand, in continuous evolution, which has over time combined the necessary aspect of functionality with the more abstract realm of vision, channeling everything into design products for home and office furnishings. Products that are not only up-to-date but set the times themselves: this is MisuraEmme.
