Magis: When Design Means Freedom

Magis is a design company founded in Northern Italy, specifically in Veneto, in Motta di Livenza, in 1976. Over its forty years of history, it has established itself internationally while preserving its original essence: offering design horizons that pursue a free and original language. A production capable of ranging across items for the home, office, and contract sectors, where lines are expressive yet pure.

The Magis style is eclectic, characterized by the harmonious combination of essentiality and creativity. Just like freedom, whose boundaries are constantly sought in an ongoing exploration and definition.

Between Aesthetics and Functionality

Magis is a family-run company led by the Perazza family and embodies family values in its design products. It is no coincidence that aesthetics and functionality meet here; banality simply does not exist.

Magis is 100% Italian. The production is entirely in Italy, a choice made to preserve the artisanal craftsmanship for which Italy—and the Veneto region in particular—is world-renowned. This quality is evident in every Magis item, which explores new worlds while showcasing the unique excellence of Made in Italy.

Among Magis’s most interesting design objects are undoubtedly the chairs, which feature playful and elegant perspectives and forms—suitable for the most creative contexts but also able to add a distinct note to spaces with a more classic style. Models range from garden-inspired pieces to armchairs and even stools. Comfort is naturally at home here, as is the most authentic beauty, capable of surprising at first glance. This applies to all Magis items, including tables and simple objects like coat racks, which exhibit unmatched attention to detail and a propensity to last a long time.

Magis Collaborations and Values

Magis’s intriguing vision and quest for freedom have led the Venetian company, over its forty years, to seek out talents who have become globally known design names. These include figures such as Philippe Starck, Jasper Morrison, Konstantin Grcic, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, and Jerszy Seymour, all maintaining stable and lasting collaborations with Magis—true family-like bonds, reflecting the spirit that has always animated the company.

Values are important to Magis, which commits to working in the spirit of respect, honesty, and loyalty, core elements of a corporate culture in which every employee, designer, partner, and supplier holds special relational importance. The company is firmly rooted in Veneto and, through local partnerships, offers an ecological and logistical imprint aimed at minimizing environmental impact. These values are not a trend for Magis but integral parts of its corporate identity.
